Music: An Emotional Connection

Music: An Emotional Connection |
In this post, I would like to talk about the beauty of music in our lives.
Music stems from a series of sounds created to bring about a range of emotional responses.
In advertising, music is sometimes used intentionally to strengthen the direction and intended message of the advertisement.
We have all been exposed to a series of sounds from young.
Music has been a powerful tool in conveying emotions portrayed by the words used and the melodies created.
When we feel happy, we tend to listen to music that keeps us happy. But, when we are sad, the music selection reflects our mood at that given time.
The words in many songs can greatly reinforce our current emotional disposition.
I have come across a few advertisements that have communicated an emotional connection between the brand and its consumers backed with a strong idea.
These are some of my favourites (in no particular order):
Number 1: Schweppes Slow Motion
Number 2: iPod
Number 3: Cadbury Gorilla
Number 4: Moove Road Trip
Number 5: British Airways
If music be the food of love, play on, give me more.
Cheers,
